Depois de ser a grande vencedora do Emmy 2015, Game of Thrones foi indicada ao prêmio do Sindicato dos Produtores de Hollywood (PGA) como melhor série dramática.
A série épica já havia conquistado uma indicação ao prêmio do Sindicato dos Roteiristas. O PGA e o WGA, portanto, marcam o início oficial da temporada de premiações nos EUA, tanto do cinema quanto da televisão, que serão concluídas com o Globo de Ouro e o Oscar.
